and is played in many countries throughout the world, there is
also many varients available including Xiangqi (Chinese Chess)
and Shogi (Japanese Chess).
In stock we have Staunton style travel chess sets, magnetic ones
plus standard table top sets of varying sizes from one inch in
height to over four inches. The better chess sets that we have
are made of wood including Shisham, Rosewood and Ebony. Ebony
Chess sets are the best quality that you can buy and also the
most expensive, but these type of sets are those used by professional
chess players from all over the world.
Chess if one of the only games in the world where both players
start on an equal footing and no randomness - the world of traditional
or western chess is said to be a classic war game between two
players.
Quite
possibly the most popular traditional board game in the West,
Chess abstractly depicts a battlefield of sorts with opposing
pieces initially lined up on either side. Each type of piece has
a unique form of movement, and any piece can capture any opposing
piece. Players take turns moving and occationally capturing until
eventually one side's king is captured, ending the game. Chess
between two highly skilled players can be a beautiful thing to
watch, and a game can provide great entertainment even for novices.
